Kimberly Jankunas

Kimberly Jankunas

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Changing Perspectives Therapy. I have over 20 years of experience working in mental health with children, adolescents, and adults doing individual, family, and couples therapy. While I work with a variety of mental health issues, my passion has been with trauma. I have a special interest in working with adult survivors of childhood abuse. My primary focus is assisting individuals in making vast improvements in their lives via the implementation of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). EMDR is evidence-based with a high rate of efficacy and is a “go-to” when other traditional modes of therapy have not been entirely successful. EMDR requires a high degree of motivation and commitment to the process.

Michelle is a Licensed Social Worker with a background in Medical Social Work. She provides a safe, judgment-free space for clients to express their feelings and develop coping skills to better manage their symptoms. Her goal is to help clients improve their overall functioning when facing active or new stressors, guiding them toward resolution.

Navigating life’s challenges can be difficult and sometimes lonely. Jean, a Licensed Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, specializes in helping individuals facing relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, stress, and the effects of trauma. Recognizing that emotional health is not one-size-fits-all, Jean works alongside you at your own pace, helping to identify goals, build on strengths, and find creative solutions together.

My name is Johanna Sutter, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker providing mental health therapy in the Syracuse, NY area. I work with clients of all ages, with a strong focus on school-age children and young adults. I love what I do and strive to make our time together productive, comfortable, and practical. Sessions with me are hands-on, offering tools you can start using right away. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and, ideally, fueled by coffee—because life’s challenges are a little easier to navigate with a warm cup in hand.

I have years of experience in child welfare and the family court system, as well as in supporting individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. My background also includes working with forensic populations, including sex offender treatment.

I provide therapy for adolescents, adults, families, and couples, helping clients develop anger management skills, reduce impulsivity, cope with anxiety, decrease depression, build communication skills, establish healthy boundaries, and increase self-esteem.
